"Fatherless" Children Debate

Concerned about "fatherless" children? Why not promote male (as well as female) responsiblity for pregnancy prevention and for every child they sire? Make it illegal to buy and sell the raw materials to create "fatherless" human beings. Every child has a father - and the right to know her entire family.

Scientists are working on ways to create a "fatherless" child. But to date, women have never been able to "get themselves pregnant" (reproducing on their own). Thus every child has both a mother and a father. When there is any doubt as to the father's identity, DNA testing can be used.

The mother and father can work together to take responsiblity for their child, whether they are married or not. And many do. Likewise a mother or father might shirk their responsiblity whether they are married or not. And many do. Married or not, parents can be encouraged to take responsibility for their children. When families work together the results can be very good, with the child feeling loved by all.

When adoption promoters determine whether a child is "fatherless" they simply look at whether the mother is married (to the father or anyone else). Thus, the term "fatherless" has nothing to do with the involvement of a father in his child's life. Instead it is a judgement or prejudice against families that are not of the "family-unit" type. This prejudice is promoted not to help children or to encourage fathers to take responsiblity, but to make it possible to get more healthy babies for people with the money to buy them (adopt). The child who has two living parents (and many other relatives) is turned into a fatherless AND motherless (grandparentless, siblingless) "orphan" on paper.

To justify this, it is said that the real parents were worthless anyway, because they were single. The mother is often called a slut, "unwed" mother or other derrogatory terms. Should a father attempt to take responsibility for his child during the baby extraction "process", he will not be applauded by "professionals" for "doing the right thing" but shoved out of the way and derisively called a "birthfather" to put him "in his place".

Infertile people will promote just about any method of getting more babies. Their "concern" that a child not be supported by or have a relationship with her father is a "manufactured" concern. They certainly do not want fathers to take responsiblity for their children. When an infant is born, her MOTHER is her entire universe - yet there is absolutely no concern voiced about removing her mother.

The same people who speak derisively of "fatherless" children are often involved in promoting the creation of children through egg or sperm "donation" - creating a "fatherless" or "motherless" child on purpose.
